Felting needles in every gauge, from coarse 36 for building shape to fine 40 for smoothing the surface. Sold singly and in graded sets.Gauge runs backwards: the higher the number, the finer the needle. A 36 felts fast but leaves visible holes; a 38 is the workhorse; a 40 closes the surface and makes a sculpture look finished. Working a whole piece with one needle is the most common beginner mistake and it shows in the result.
